Neha Dhupia On Getting Pregnant Before Marriage: ‘My Parents Were Okay, But I Was Given 72 hours To Go Back To Bombay And Get Married’
Neha Dhupia spoke about getting married to actor Angad Bedi after finding out that she was pregnant with their first kid Mehr
Bollywood actor Neha Dhupia has made a mark in the industry with her unconventional life choices. She left everyone shocked when got hitched in a private ceremony at a Gurudwara to actor Angad Bedi in May 2018. She had then gone on to announce the birth of her daughter Mehr, in November 2018, leaving fans speculating if she had conceived before getting married. Never having shied away from accepting the same, in a recent interaction, she opened up about how she broke the news to her family.
During her interview with Times Now, Neha revealed how she and Angad had a ‘nonlinear wedding.’ She went on to share how when they told her parents that she was pregnant, while they were okay with it, the couple was given roughly three days to get married. Quoted by Hindustan Times, she recalled, “When we went and broke the news to my parents, they were like okay, this is great. But you have 72 hours before we turn this around. Let’s get married. The 42-year-old actress also spoke about dealing with a lot of negative comments from internet trolls about her pregnancy. Talking to the media publication, she expressed how her life choices were hurting anyone, as there is no harm in doing what one wants, what pleases them. For the unversed, the couple today are proud parents to two kids- their daughter Mehr Dhupia Bedi (2018) and their son Guriq Singh Dhupia Bedi (2021). They are often seen taking to their official social media handles to share pictures and videos with their little munchkins. On the work front, they had come-together for a comedy-drama penned by Chetan Bhagat. They essayed the role of a married couple Raghavan Rao and Savi, who got through a tough time during the COVID-19 pandemic.
